I was driving home from a meeting today and this song game on my Pandora station. It’s an older song by Natalie Grant, but for some reason I’ve never heard it. As I listened to the words, I couldn’t help but feel a tightness in my chest.
Yes. He has found me in the hurricane and it is overwhelming.
Just a few months ago, I felt like I couldn’t catch my breath. From the moment I woke up, to the moment I fell asleep it was a never ending spiral of chaos. I worked at a news station and had a very long commute in the early hours of the morning.
I was stressed.
I was tired.
I was overwhelmed.
I was frustrated.
The worst part of it all was I brought all those feelings home to my children. My spirit turned into bitterness. My bitterness turned into temptation. My temptation turned into guilt and I was left standing in the middle of an emotional hurricane.
I left my job in the news industry back in December. As I look back at those last few months, I don’t know how I survived. Today, as I focus on the beauty of God’s plans for me, I realize He plucked me right off the edge in that hurricane.
And it’s overwhelming.
Give a listen:
I know it’s an older song, but if you’re looking for encouragement today in the midst of YOUR hurricane today … give a listen and download Natalie Grant’s Hurricane on Amazon for $8.99. Be blessed today!
