On Friday, audiences everywhere will finally get to meet Oscar, the lovable chimpanzee who stars in Disneynature’s newest movie Chimpanzee. We were so honored to have been invited to the #DisneyGlobalEvent where we walked the Red Carpet at the World Premiere and interviewed the Directors of the movie.
Now as a Mom from Texas, walking the Red Carpet was a bit different, however, that didn’t take away from the excitement of it all. Later this week, you’ll find my take on this nature movie. Is it family friendly? Is it suitable for young children? I know those are all questions you guys want answered before you hit the theaters. Don’t worry. I have all the deets after interviewing the directors of the movie along with the prestigious conservationist, Jane Goodall. First things first, however, what was the Red Carpet like? Well, let me show you.
As I mentioned above, I’m just a small town Texas Mom Blogger. What am I doing on the Red Carpet you ask? Well, I had to ask myself that same question. I mean, on regular days I’m up writing blog posts, doing laundry, cooking meals, driving kids to school, and sitting in the stands of a baseball field. I live a VERY regular life, except during the instances that I get to fly across the country and cover exciting events. It’s a tornado of emotions.
I felt extra giddy at our chariot.
I felt honored to walk alongside bloggers like Liz from A Nut in a Nutshell.
I felt like I had a purpose when I got my media pass.
I felt privileged to share the same Red Carpet with stars like:
Jane Goodall and Directors of Chimpanzee Alastair Fothergill and Mark Linfield
Bella Thorne and Zendaya, also known as CeCe and Rocky from Disney’s Shake It Up
Debby Ryan from Disney’s hit shows Suite Life on Deck and Jessie
The McClain Sisters who sing “Rise” in the movie
Not bad for a small town Texas blogger, eh? My experience on the Red Carpet was none other than memorable. Although quickly walked, I’ve found it to be an opportunity that speaks largely to non-traditional press. Our voices are heard. Our opinion matters. We are now being considered for Red Carpet coverage. What’s next? Bloggers at the Olympics? For more information on Chimpanzee visit www.disney.com/chimpanzee.
