On April 20, 2012, DisneyNature is set to release their newest movie Chimpanzee, the fourth in their stellar line up of heartfelt wildlife stories. Moviegoers will be taken deep into the forests of Africa in a real life true story of a young (and adorable I might add) chimpanzee named Oscar. In this remarkable story of family bonds and individual triumph, Oscar’s playful curiosity and zest for discovery showcase the intelligence and ingenuity of some of the most extraordinary personalities in the animal kingdom.
And guess what? I’ll be at the Red Carpet Premiere! In conjunction with Disneynature’s Chimpanzee, Walt Disney World, Kissimmee Convention & Visitors Bureau, and Global Resort Homes, I’ll embark on a 5 day journey with 19 other bloggers in the #DisneyGlobalEvent! Do I need to even SAY how excited I am?!
The world is a playground for little Oscar and his fellow young chimps, who’d rather make mayhem than join their parents for an afternoon nap. But when Oscar’s family is confronted by a rival band of chimps, he is left to fend for himself until a surprising ally steps in and changes his life forever. Directed by Alastair Fothergill (“African Cats” and “Earth”) and Mark Linfield (“Earth”), “Chimpanzee” swings into theaters on Earth Day 2012.
See Chimpanzee, Save Chimpanzees:
See Chimpanzee the week it opens—April 20-26. For that one week only, Disneynature will contribute 20 cents per ticket to JGI to protect wild chimpanzees. The funds will help:
- Protect their home—the tropical forest;
- Educate the next generation; and
- Care for orphaned chimpanzees.
As I mentioned above, I am SO excited to have been invited to attend this event. On April 11th, I’ll head to Florida for a fun-filled adventure with some of my FAVORITE bloggers. Global Resort Homes has provided three amazing vacation houses that we’ll be staying in. Talk about a reality show, huh?
Just kidding. It will be fun though. As soon as I know what we’ll be doing, I’ll update on our Facebook. For now, I DO know that we’ll be attending the red carpet premiere of Chimpanzee, take part in nature themed activities through Kissimmee Convention & Visitors Bureau, and spend a day at Wald Disney World (I’ve never been so I’m like a kid with butterflies in my stomach)!
April is a busy busy month for me. I’m attending three events for brands and causes I’m passionate about, but with that “chaos” sometimes comes confusion. I don’t want any of you guys to miss the coverage for the #DisneyGlobalEvent. So make sure you’re following the social media channels below.

I’ll be asking if you have any questions you may have for directors of this amazing movie, but for now? Have you been to Walt Disney World? Which park is your favorite?
