I know. I know. The last two weeks I’ve totally skipped the Pin of the Week Feature I promised I’d write. I’ve been a little busy, but know that I have some pretty amazing recipes that have been tried and true ALL from Pinterest.
Today, it’s all about this jewel of a sandwich recipe I found a few weeks ago. I’m all about being easy, simple, and delicious. So, this was right up my alley. The recipe comes from The Girl Who Ate Everything and, again, it’s just fab and OH-SO-EASY.
I’ve found that The Girl Who Ate Everything is so talented when it comes to food photography. I, however, am not. I will say, though, I’ve become a better cook just by having discovered her recipes. Check it out:
I tried and that’s what matters, right? Although the pictures aren’t AS appealing, it WAS tasty. There were a few tweaks that I did due to what I could find at the grocery store and my family’s own taste buds. For instance, I used sourdough bread instead of french bread. I also didn’t use olives because everyone in the house hates them. It still turned out fabulous.
I even thought I’d experiment by adding salami to some of the sandwiches. Ummmmm… yeah. Don’t do that. There are so many taste sensations going on with this particular sandwich, the salami just didn’t work.
The point of my Pin of the Week posts aren’t to gain an ungodly amount of traffic. I’ve seen the “Pin Hops” and “Pin Memes,” but for me? This is about learning to cook new things and giving credit to the bloggers who have, unknowingly, helped me do that. My Pin of the Week is for me and if it gains readers, great. If it doesn’t, that’s okay too. I just want to let it be known that I consider myself an “average” cook, but with Pinterest, I’ve become so much more.
So, find South of the Border sandwich recipe over at The Girl Who Ate Everything. Tell her you found her recipe here, if you want. She’s fab. And I hope if she finds this, she won’t think I’m a weird stalker.
What have YOU found on Pinterest lately? Better yet, are you following me? I want to follow you. So, give a holler!
