I know you’ve heard me say I’ve moved over 10 times in my life. Our most recent move came last April as we moved into my husband’s childhood home. It’s such a blessing to be here and share his old memories with our kids. We can then, in turn, make new ones together.
With this move I think I was at the brink of “Moving Burn Out.” It took me MONTHS to unpack. Heck, who am I kidding? I STILL have boxes that aren’t unpacked. What struck me the most, however, was the fact that I have yet to really decorate around here. I think I get overwhelmed at the thought, especially because we have two living rooms. So, Family Dollar convinced me I didn’t have to put a lot of effort, time, or money into refreshing a room on a budget. I went on a Home Decor Challenge to see what I can get for $25.00 or less and boy was I shocked at the options.
I have so many rooms that need to be refreshed, but the ONE room I absolutely adore is my living room. I mentioned above we have two living rooms, but the other is strictly for surround sound, loud video games, move nights.. You know.. the hard core stuff kids love. The living room, however, is my sitting room, where I visit with friends, enjoy the sunlight from the french doors, and just breathe in the day.
But it needs help. There are two walls that are just BARE to the bone.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I arrived at Family Dollar. I never really thought to buy Home Decor from there. I mean, it’s great for snacks, detergent, and small things, but I had my doubts that I could ACTUALLY find anything I liked to adorn my walls.
I was in for a big surprise.
Family Dollar carries a wide selection of home décor items including framed art, lamps, blinds, bathroom accessories, and kitchenware… all with prices ranging from $6-$10. Sure to fit within any budget! So, I picked three framed art pieces, two small and one large. All three totaled to $25.
Using a few things I had laying around already, I placed the framed art pieces above our TV. This is a sitting area, rarely used to watch TV (but I have one in there in case we need it).
What do you think of my small changes for less than $25?? Visit the Family Dollar home décor page to check out the full line of merchandise available: http://www.familydollar.com/pages/home-decor.aspx. DEAL ALERT: Print your $5 off $25 coupon for use on home items available on FamilyDollar.com. I printed this coupon making my total spending a little over $20 with tax. I had a extra left over to buy my little man a candy bar (for being so patient as I tried to decide what to buy).
