We love granola bars in my house. They are great for quick, portable snacks. However, I won’t just buy any granola bars for my family. I make sure I read all the ingredients and choose the ones that will provide the most nutrition.
Kraft Foods recently sent me samples of their new, soon to be released MilkBite Milk & Granola Bars. They also sent me a $10 gift card so I could purchase my family’s favorite granola bars and do a blind taste test!
I enlisted the help of my granola experts – my 11year old daughter, Emma and my 12 year old nephew, Jonathan. I blindfolded them and gave them each a plate with the Strawberry MilkBite , Chocolate MilkBite and two other granola bar brands of similar flavors.
Hands down, they both picked the MilkBite flavors as their favorites. Their comments included:
“Smooth and lots of flavor”
“Strawberry one tasted like fresh strawberries”
“Chocolate bar was the perfect amount of chocolate”
And the best endorsement of all? They threw away the remaining pieces of the other bars and went for seconds on the MilkBite’s!
I also enjoyed the flavor of the MilkBite bars but my favorite part is that they are made with real milk. They deliver the calcium of an 8 oz glass of milk – 30% of the daily recommended value. They have 5 grams of protein, 7 grams of whole grains and no high fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors, colors or preservatives.
- Available in the refrigerated dairy aisle of your grocery store in February
- Flavors available are: Chocolate, Strawberry, Peanut Butter, Oatmeal Raisin and Mixed Berry
- Suggested Retail per box is $3.49
We enjoyed trying the MilkBite Milk & Granola Bars. They were a hit at my house and have become our new favorite granola bar!
