Earlier this morning you may have read that my contributor Jennifer has decided to cut back on meat for the health of her family in the new year. I have lots of friends who are committing to a healthy all around regimen. Some are going meatless, others are going caffeine-less, and some are even going gluten free.
While I haven’t taken any extreme measures in cutting back, I have slowly been researching recipes and snacks that are tasty, yet good for the kids. My friend Caryn at RockinMama.net has an awesome recipe for vegan vanilla cinnamon spice pancakes. I’m going to make those this weekend! Today, however, we’re snacking on Ocean Spray’s newest fruit flavored fruit snack, which just so happens to be gluten free as well. Have you tried them?
- Made with real fruit juice
- Contain natural colors and flavors
- 80 calories
- Gluten Free
- Fat Free
- Contain 100% of the Daily Value of Vitamin C
- Available with year round Double Box Top
We stopped eating fruit snacks over two years ago. My children just don’t ask for them anymore and will opt for real fruit instead. So, when the six boxes of Ocean Spray fruit snacks hit our door step, I asked them if they’d like to try again. My 8-yr-old daughter said, “Mom, these are juicy, not like the ones I’ve tried before. I like ’em.”
I think these are perfect to send with the kids in their lunch, on-the-go at baseball games (yes, my little preschool will be in teeball this year!!), or even for the classroom.
I’ve made claims to healthy snacks before with much ridicule. So, while I think these work great for my busy family, they may not be great for yours if you’re avoiding things like corn starch or corn syrup. These are listed as ingredients on the box.
You can find Ocean Spray Fruit Flavored Snacks at your local grocery store. DEAL ALERT: Don’t forget to print your coupon for $1.10 off of the purchase of (2) Ocean Spray® Fruit Flavored snacks before heading out.
One lucky Momma Findings reader will win an Ocean Spray Fruit Snacks prize that included Six(6) boxes of fruit snacks. You can feed your kid’s class for Valentine’s Day!
