My 4-yr-old asked me to play the Wii with him one night. We, often, play video games using our projector to make the screen bigger, makes for better gaming (according to my husband). Well, the other night, I kept missing my que in the game. I thought to myself C’mon I can’t be THAT bad! Something has GOT to be wrong with the remote, right? Well, it wasn’t the remote. It wasn’t the settings on the projector. It was blurry vision.
I grew so frustrated at the game, at the kids, at my husband shouting, “I can’t see!” Even as I put my glasses on, it was still quite a blur. I couldn’t focus. Have you ever felt like that? No matter how hard you blink, your sight won’t focus on what you’re looking at? Maybe your focus is directed at the wrong target? You’re seeing the background of what’s important and missing what’s standing right in front of you…. like an opportunity to simply spend time with your kids. Maybe you should put your love glasses on?
This Music Monday, I’m highlighting a new artist. She’s new to me, however, my daughter has been listening to her music for quite some time now, So, I’ve discovered. There’s a lot to say when you, as a parent, find cool music from your children. She’s only 7-yrs-old and I can’t wait until she’s older and we’re sharing our faves together.
With that said, I’ve discovered Beckah Shae and her latest single #putyourloveglasseson. You’re probably thinking Sara has lost her ever livin’ mind, using a hashtag in this entire post, but I HAVEN’T. Beckah Shae has titled her song with the hashtag included!
Okay, I’m a lover of Christ and a lover of the all powerful hashtag. You all know this. So, of course! I’m over the moon to showcase the song (and it’s hashtag) here at Momma Findings.
The song is all about seeing things in a different way, through the eyes of Christ, how He wants us to love and everything else will come into focus. My eyesight has, increasingly, gotten worse. My Mom reminded me that, all the time I spend writing in front of the computer, has taken a toll.
I think she’s right.
But sometimes I think my vision is blurry due to distraction. I’m distracted by work, the kids, the laundry, the traffic, the grocery shopping, the endless list of “to do” that I miss what God REALLY wants me to see. I think that’s why I’m diggin’ this song… it helps me to see a person or a situation for what it really is and presents a way to show His love.
You can download #PutYourLoveGlassesOn at Amazon.com for $.99.
