Thank you to BING for sponsoring my writing today. To learn more about BING Shopping Rewards, click here. I was selected for this sponsorship by the Clever Girls Collective, which endorses Blog With Integrity, as I do.
I’ve got to say, I’m not a big time shopper. I used to be, but even back in the days where I had a sense of entitlement to brand new baby clothes every week, I never did much of it online. There’s something about seeing, touching, and the actual physical shopping experience that makes it worth it. I never thought shopping online would be the route for me, however, lately it’s the best way to get a good deal. Ladies… keeping within my budget is worth it and I’m discovering new ways to save online using rewards programs. Heck. Even Bing has rolled out incentives for shoppers.
The Bing Rewards Preview program gives you shopping free will by allowing you to earn credits for searching and exploring various features of Bing. Once credits begin to add up, you can go ahead and redeem them toward gift cards, buy merchandise, even give to charity.
How to get started:
1. Go the Bing Bar route. Just install the Bing Bar toolbar onto your browser and register, and you can watch the Rewards credit counter climb.
2. Head to Bing.com on the Web. Just complete the registration form and track your progress by checking the Rewards credit counter located on the top right of the Bing.com header.
And, upon signing up, you’ll automatically start with 250 credits.Once you’ve accumulated a fair number of credits (to give you an idea, 1338 credits can get you a $10 Starbucks gift card!), head to the Redemption Center and start shopping.
Now I don’t know about you, but I use Google FOR EVERYTHING. Google is the heart of everything I do online from Blogger sign-in, to email, to stat analytics, You Tube account management, and even revenue generation using Adsense. I’ll NEVER give up my Google.
It’s the brain and heart of everything I do in Social Media.
With that said, it doesn’t reward me for using it’s search engine. I mean, the rewards are in quick search time, fun Google search marquee updates, and over all quality of the search engine, but I’m talking real rewards like contributing to my caffeine addiction.
Bing does that. The rewards program does just that… rewards you for searching.
I checked out the up and coming search engine and, while I found new results I didn’t find using Google, I’m not completely a convert. I love it’s set up. I love that it shows who likes particular sites on Facebook on the result page. It seems like I COULD get used to shopping this way, especially if I’m going to earn points.

I signed up for the Bing Rewards Program and had to, first, register with a Windows LIVE account, which I didn’t have. Now, while that’s not much of an issue, it’s time consuming to keep up with ONE MORE account. Using Google it’s automatically synced with my Gmail and You Tube account.
With all of the above said, I’m looking forward to getting to know Bing a little bit more. Maybe I can chat with it over coffee and take my shopping experience to the next level with the savings and rewards I so LONG to earn.
What about you? Have you started using Bing? Did you know they had a rewards program? Tell me, what search engine/rewards program do you use and why do you like it?
