I was chatting with Libby’s Table and two of my favorite Texas Bloggers, (A Southern Fairytale and My Monkey Mayhem) on Twitter, about what to eat for dinner last night. It seems, here lately, that my Momma Brian is tired, so tired that I can’t seem to think of meal ideas OR snack ideas for kids. What’s one of your favorite things to snack on? What about your kids? Do you have a “Go-To Snack” that you turn to when the kids come home famished from school?
Some of our favorites include Fruit Smoothies, Goya Maria Cookies and Milk, Fruit and Cheese Tray, but today I’m bringing you a NEW snack that my children have really taken to. It’s sweet like candy, but WAY healthier like Raisins. They’re called Raisels and they’ve got all the kids talkin’ at the lunch table.
Are you searching for a healthier alternative to candy? The National Raisin Company has come up with the answer with Raisels. Raisels are the first 100% real fruit snack that actually tastes like candy. 100% Vitamin C, real dried fruit golden raisins, less added sugar than sweetened dried cranberries! – make Raisels a great alternative to cookies, candy and sugary fruit snacks.
- 100% US RDA for Vitamin C
- Rich in Antioxidants
- Fat Free
- Cholesterol Free
- No High Fructose Corn Syrup or Artificial Sweeteners
- No Sodium
- Kosher Certified by the Orthodox Union
Thanks to Team Mom, we had the chance to try the new “Raisins on the Block”. My children weren’t too sure about them, but the minute I said, “C’mon! Try ’em! They’ve got sour peach, sour apple, sour lemon, and sour orange burst.” They were ALL about getting in on this new snack craze.
One thing I love, as a Mom, is the fact that they really are raisins with a twist and they come in such a big variety of flavors. The packaging is fun along with the characters on the boxes. I can rest assured that they are receiving 100% Vitamin C and Real Fruit with each box and speaking of boxes… I love that it’s portion controlled signaling to my children that one box is enough until dinner.
I couldn’t let my kids have all the fun, so I tried ’em too. To be honest? They taste like golden raisins with a very light dusting of sugar/flavor.
As I reach the end of my review, I can’t think of ONE thing I’d improve with this snack line. You know me, I’m always honest about my Momma Improvements and Suggestions but today, I have none. Raisels is a new favorite in our home, giving us guilt free eating with no high fructose corn syrup, no sodium, and no artificial sweeteners. It’s a healthy kids snack that this Momma approves of!
