Last week, I talked about how I love me some chocolate and I let you in on a really great heart shaped Valentine’s gift idea perfect for loved ones. Donsuemor cookies have landed a place on my holiday list due to how great they taste. This morning, however, I have another gift in mind that is, not only great tasting, but beautiful too.
I’m still talking chocolate. Stay with me here. William Dean and Jacques Torres make fine chocolate assortments that will blow you out of the water. They are tiny little works of art disguising as candy and, paired together, I think would make an amazing Valentine’s Gift. I mean, who doesn’t want to get a box of chocolate on the most romantic day of the year? We got to try both brands, which are available at HSN.com, and all I’ve got to say is, it was a unique experience in itself.
Petite masterpieces for the eye and the palette. These luxurious chocolates are made in small batches from only the finest and freshest ingredients. Each piece is painted or airbrushed by hand by artisan chocolatiers to become a stunning work of art. They’re almost too pretty to eat—but they taste too good not to!
About Jacque Torres Chocolates:
Get ready to melt over this mouth-watering selection of high-quality chocolates. Each confection is handcrafted with premium ingredients selected by Master Pastry Chef Jacques Torres. It’s truly an unforgettable indulgence.
Now that you know a little bit more about each brand. Let me take you behind the scenes of our taste test that took place in our home. Attendees there were more than willing to give me their take on how each chocolate tasted. When I say attendees, I actually mean…… the husband and child. They are my guinea pigs when it comes to food.
First up is the box of William Deans Chocolates. They arrived beautifully packaged in this blue, sapphire-like, box:
See how it glimmers?
Once we opened it, my breath was taken away by how beautiful these candies were. I mean, I was expecting an alignment of chocolates, yes, but to to have them resemble a piece of art, really shocked me. I didn’t even want to EAT them, because they were so stunning:
When have you ever seen chocolate like this?
Each chocolate in the box could be matched with it’s flavor with the enclosed list. So, before I took a bite of that beautiful leopard-like candy, I can see if I’d actually like it:
Next up was our box of Jacques Torres chocolates. Before we accept products for review, we always, ALWAYS, research the company and/or product online. So, I was pretty darn stoked to try Jacques Torres line of chocolates. With a website, like MrChocolate.com, he’d SO be my favorite, but I was disappointed when all I received was a very, teeny, tiny, box of chocolates to facilitate this review. It’s cool though. It gave us just of hint of what the brand is all about. Check it out:

Nestled inside, were two forms of delicacy. Sweet chocolate. My mouth was watering at the sight of such creations:
There is no wrapping. The design you see is EDIBLE.
I waited a little before talking about the taste. Each box of chocolates, William Dean and Jacques Torres, have very unique flavors for each candy. I was surprised at how distinct each flavor was, forcing me to take a little longer with each bite to determine what my taste buds were sensing. It’s a dramatic burst of ingredients that stop you in your tracks!
It’s chocolate. How can I improve chocolate? Well I can’t, but I WILL give this Suggestion: They aren’t really made for kids. If you’re like me you wouldn’t spend that much money on chocolates for kids anyway, but the taste wasn’t up my 3-yr-old’s alley, nor my 7-yr-old. Keep that in mind when gift giving.
In the end, both brands of chocolate were elegantly packaged, beautiful for the the eye, and impressive for the palette. Paired together, they would make great Valentine’s Gifts for loved ones or even Teachers and Bus Drivers. They need love too.
You can find William Dean and Jacques Torres chocolates on HSN.com as of January 26th or they can be found at their in respective websites:
