You know? Every time I throw a Holiday Party, here at Momma Findings, I grow a little sad on the last day. I love hanging out with all of you guys, and ya’ll always have awesome ideas for parties, recipes, and tips to make any Holiday memorable.
That being said, today is our very last day of the Nestle Halloween Party and if you haven’t guessed already, we’re talking about favorite Trick-Or-Treat memories. I started digging out favorite photos of my babies and wouldn’t you know? I couldn’t find very many. Then I remember the crash of ’08. It swallowed most, if not all, my favorite pictures. I did, however, find a few that brought me to tears. Halloween is definitely a time of great fun with the kids and, by looking at all our pictures, it’s kind of making me want to REALLY go all out this year. I want to enjoy every single second, because 5 years from now I’ll be looking at THIS year’s pictures thinking Wasn’t that JUST yesterday?
Some of my greatest memories have nothing to do with the ACTUAL Trick-Or-Treating, if you can believe that. One particular year, I remember how my daughter just HAD to have the Snow White Costume. She wanted it all: dress, slippers, crown, and the wand. Lucky for her, she had a grandma that sent her JUST enough birthday money to buy it. After spending the day at the Disney Store, she was just the happiest little princess anyone has ever seen.
Then Halloween came and it looked like this:
Yes, that was my little Snow White Princess, who didn’t want to wake up from her nap to go Trick-Or-Treating, nor did she like the way the dress felt on her skin. She suffers from eczema so this sucker was itchy. It. Broke. My. Momma. Heart.
This is the night Daddy was supposed to work. Late. Imagine how happy this girl was when he drove up the driveway with open arms, early, and ready to Trick-Or-Treat together. It looked a little something like this:
Another year, it was all about the Pumpkin Patch. Memphis had the BEST Pumpkin Patch. You jump on a hayride, take it to the patch, and pick straight from the vine. This is what I miss most about Tennessee Halloweens:
Then there’s the costumes. Every year, my kids looked more adorable than ever:
and more costumes:
This is where I would embed a picture of my daughter wearing that EXACT same Buzz Lightyear costume the following year, but uh… yeah. That’s lost and for some reason, I’m missing any and all Halloween pictures with my youngest. Poor kid. He’ll forever have the 3rd child syndrome with no pictures or memories. Don’t worry. I’ll make up for it this year.
And trust me. Our costumes rock it.
How Do You Make Memories?
Well, as you probably guessed we make a lot of fun treats in the kitchen, but, for us, it’s about being together, acting silly, and enjoy a time to step out of character and into a Super Hero, or a Princess, or a Ninja. For tips on how to celebrate Halloween Togetherness, head over to Nestle Family.
Because it’s the very last day of our Halloween Party and I want to end by celebrating family togetherness for Halloween, one lucky Momma Findings reader will win a NESTLÉ Family Halloween party package with a $100 Walmart Gift Card and coupons for free products from:

***CONTEST HAS NOW ENDED*** Congrats to our Grand Prize Winner Julie with the comment, “I remember a Halloween when I was 5 years old. My older teenage neighbor, whom I adored, dressed like a gorgeous princess and took us trick-or-treating. I was cookie monster and my sister was oscar the grouch. I was so happy to be with my cool neighbor instead of my mom & dad.
My daughter was a ladybug last year. Hoping for a punk rocker girl this year. She’s 2-1/2, so not too many Halloweens with her yet! Can’t wait.” A ladybug? She’d fit right in here at Momma Findings, wouldn’t she? Please check your inbox on how to claim your prize.
Contest starts today, Oct. 22nd, at Midnight and ends 11:59PM CST. Only 24 Hours!!! Open to US residents only. Leave each entry in separate comments.
