It’s not often, we get to go on a family vacation. In fact, my husband’s job, for years, never provided a good opportunity for him to take vacation at all. So, we were stuck in a rut of simply visiting family in Texas when we had a few days off. Now, that we LIVE in Texas we don’t have to spend what little vacation we have on visiting family. We can, instead, discover new places WITH them. I’ve been thinking about where we would go for the Ultimate Family Vacation. I would choose a place the kids can have fun, but the adults don’t feel left out either. The magical deck of a Disney Cruise comes to mind.
We visited Sea World San Antonio over our Spring Break last year. We were only there for 2 days, but it was the best 2 days we’ve, as a family, in YEARS and one of those days it RAINED. Can you believe that bad weather didn’t even ruin our fun? On the way home, the kids were passed out in the backseat and my husband and I got to talking. He tells me, “Hun. I want to do that again. Soon. I never realized what I was missing.”
He was right.
It’s not often you unplug from all the reality of housework, jobs, school, and bills to concentrate on fun. I mean, what’s that? Fun? With the memories of Sea World spinning in my head, I, often, daydream about THE ultimate vacation. The vacation where I have everyone I love near me, I see my kids beam with excitement, and I enjoy every ounce of it by simply breathing.
Who Would I Take?
As I mentioned above, I moved home to be around family. So, besides taking my three children and my husband, I’d HAVE to bring my parents (make for good sitters after hours if you know what I’m sayin’), my little brother, and my sister.
Where Would We Go?
My husband and I have dreamed about taking everyone to Disney World, but I’ve always wanted to go on a cruise. Hearing from others, Disney Cruise Line offers families the ultimate experience catering to both kids AND adults.
What Would We Do?
Ummmm…….. everything! I mean, LOOK at this thing:
Looking at the website and speaking to other Mom’s who have bee on a Disney Cruise, I’ve discovered there are so many activities for families like:
- Deck Parties
- Character Greetings
- Live Shows
- Youth Clubs
While we’d totally enjoy it as a family, there is also opportunity to have fun just the Hubby and I at a quiet dinner or at the Spa. It can definitely have it’s romantic moments.
Why Did I Choose Disney Cruise Line?
Well, because it’s all there, the entertainment for the kids, but the opportunity for adult activities as well. Most of all, I’d love to see the look in my children’s eyes when they see the ship. I think, in itself, would be worth it. Not to mention my parents. They’ve never been on a vacation like this and it’s a dream of mine to treat them.
So, Mommas? If you could go on THE Ultimate Family Vacation, where would YOU go and why? Have you been on a Disney Cruise? Care to give me any tips or pointers?
