As a teenager, I had a skincare routine that was not to be wavered by anyone or anything. I had my facial cleansers, creams, and astringents to keep a flawless complexion. I also had an array lotions for my legs, arms, and feet. One day, out of each week, you’d find me on my bed with the latest magazine and a facial mask. It came so easy to take care of my skin. That is, until I hit Motherhood.
With three young children, I’m lucky enough to get a shower each day that I don’t even think twice about putting lotion on. In fact, I’ve neglected it completely for the last 5 years. To be honest, most days it’s dry and I feel helpless to the means of getting back to my, once perfected, skin routine. So,today, I’m taking the Eucerin Skin First Pledge to put my skin first and start treating my skincare like healthcare.
Eucerin is encouraging women to put the health of their Skin FIRST and take the Skin FIRST Pledge. For every pledge made, Eucerin will make a donation to Healthy Women, the nation’s leading independent health information source for women where they come to find answers to their most pressing and personal health care questions.
How do I take the Eucerin Skin Care Pledge?
Simple. Head over to the Eucerin Skin First website and take the pledge which states:
- I pledge to protect and defend my skin as it does me.
- I pledge to make skincare a priority for my, my family, and friends.
- I pledge to treat my skincare like healthcare.
What Encourages Me to Take the Pledge?
As I mentioned above, I have limited time and limited energy to take care of my skin, but there is one important person in my life who encourages me, every day, to take a little time for my skin.
My 6-yr-old daughter suffers from eczema. Some days it’s barely noticeable, others? Well, let’s just say there are frequent hot summer nights where she itches so bad she cries. Last fall, her constant scratching lead to a severe infection that lasted for over a month. It’s a never-ending battle to keep her skin from flaring up, but I take the time to do it for her.
It got me thinking, why not do it for myself? Today, I take the pledge to treat my skincare like healthcare… for myself, for my daughter, and for my family. Will you do the same?
