Sunday mornings. It’s a time of joy that I can freely worship my God in the presence of other believers, but it’s also a time of chaos in the mornings. Getting three kids fed, dressed, and out the door on time is a chore all in itself.
A seasoned Christian woman once told me she had her children sleep in their church clothes on Saturday nights. Who cares about wrinkles, as long as their dressed and THERE? We battle the Sunday morning hokey pokey just as many other families do, so how do I stay calm and get it all done?
When my toddler drops, yet, another cereal bowl on the floor, the other screams, “I can’t find my Bible!”, and my daughter is moping about how I didn’t wash her favorite dress…. I melt away to another place, a heavenly place.
Last Sunday, KSBJ played the most heavenly song. I have a soft spot for Spanish speaking singers. I’m Hispanic (my Spanish isn’t great, but I understand most of it) and hearing a Contemporary Christian song with lyrics in both English and Spanish, well.. it spoke to me. It didn’t take me, but a second to open my laptop and look up the singer.
I’ve discovered Free Chapel and Ricardo Sanchez. On this particular Sunday I felt God did bring his Kingdom to my side. The chaos was dimmed, the loudness was silenced, and I meditated and prayed in His presence.
Album: Moving Forward
lord God almighty
ancient of days
giver of faith
lord I need you
Lord your deserving
of all I have
I lay me down
Lord I need you
I call your name
Lord you reply
You bring your kingdom
To stand by my side
giver of life
all that I need
father your everything that is precious to me
There is no one like you lord in all the earth
