In the last 8-9 years my family moved… a lot! If I want to put an actual number on it, I’d say we’ve moved around 8 times. My husband’s job took us to different areas of Texas, Memphis, TN, and Charlotte, NC. We finally decided to come home to Baytown, right outside of Houston.
Yesterday, we took my son to Trophy Barber shop for a haircut. As I waited the Barber, Chris, chatted with my husband and I asking if they did his 1st haircut. I mentioned, “Probably not, we lived in Memphis the last few years.” He then asked us why we moved back……… Simply Put, “We wanted to come home.”
As we adjust to our first year back to the Houston area, I’m slowly learning of new businesses, new local forums/websites, and new places to take the kids. Forums were always a life saver when I lived 600 miles away from home and I’m under the impression there are a lot of Mommas that feel the same way.
There is one local forum helping Houston area parents. It’s called BabySpotHouston.com. Will you join local parents this weekend to kick off this launch? You might win a month supply of diapers! Sweet!
About BabySpot Houston:
A free innovative and informational social networking site that provides a safe and secure way to share pictures, videos, and parenting tips with your friends and family. It’s run by Houston residents and gives you reviews on Doctors, restaurants, hospitals, and much, much more! It also offers a listing of local family oriented events.
Look for me at the BabySpot Houston event with my camera in hand. Also, since I’m settling down quite nicely in our home, I’ll be posting more local events, local businesses I love (like Trophy Barber Shop), and local news in my new segment Local Findings!
