In case you are still stumped on what to buy your children, nieces, or nephews, this Christmas check out these cool toys from WowWee!
RS Tri-bot™ is a fast talking and fast moving companion, who’s fully loaded with a variety of different interactive play modes. With an engaging personality and animated face, RS Tri-bot will keep you entertained for hours with jokes and stories.
My son was absolutely amazed upon receiving the Tri-bot. He has been asking me for one ever since he saw the commerical on TV and here, right in front of him, was this Robot. He couldn’t believe it.
The funniest feature, I think for me, is the alarm mode. Set the alarm and when it’s time to wake Tri-bot starts running around. You have to catch him in order to turn it off. What a great way to get those kids out of bed during those chilly school days. Well, if you have a child who sleeps like a rock, you might be the one chasing Tri-bot.
There are three really fun driving games to keep you busy: Pattern, Maze, Minefield. What really impressed my husband was the the quickness of the robot itself. He has three wheels that help him to go forward, backward, or side to side. You can also use the remote to activate the directions. Move the remote forward(up) he goes forward. To move the robot back move the remote backward(down).
One last amazing function with Tri-bot are all the comments! He has a comment for just about everything. When he falls he’ll comment on how it’s a totally different view from where he is. Run him in circles and he’ll tell you he’s dizzy and it’s not redundant. You can go a long while before he’ll repeat comments. Keeps him fresh and interesting for your child.
The only Momma Improvement I might make are all the batteries! I completely understand how and why you need so much. This is a high-tech robot and you need power, but it will definitely get costly to replace the batteries. Maybe rechargeable batteries would be in order for this one? It takes 8 AA’s for the robot itself along with 3 AAA’s for the remote. Even so, this Robot SURE is worth it.

If a walking/rolling robot isn’t your child’s “thing” then you should get a load of these cool flyers!
The Tinker Bell Flyer is definitely geared for that girly girl in your life, but still has the aspect of any robot lover. You can control the height and speed of Tinker Bell with her easy-to-use remote controller. Made from high-flex materials, Tinker Bell is light and durable so you won’t have to worry about her getting into mischief! Using a single channel flower remote controller designed perfectly for small hands, launch and fly your Tinker Bell with ease. When she gets tired and needs to rest her wings, recharge Tinker Bell directly on the flower remote controller using the built-in charger cable. Includes a decorative stand to safely hold Tinker Bell and her flower remote controller. With dual band IR, you can fly up to two Tinker Bells together in one room! Very Cool.
This toy is not as small as it looks online, which turned out great for us being that my 5 year old daughter would probably lose it or lose pieces to it. With the stand, she can merely place it to recharge right there out of reach from the her younger brother. It took us awhile to figure out how to recharge Tinkerbell, but swiftly realized that you must turn the remote ON in order for her to take a charge. I guess the Momma Brain cells weren’t working at the moment.
The Blade Star was quite the talk of my husband and his co-worker with it’s rechargeable helicopter-style flying action. Sensor-based navigation enables it to glide through the air, avoiding ceilings and flying away from obstacles — or use just your hands to guide it! Attach the dogfight accessory (included) and face-off two FlyTech Bladestar flyers in a mid-air battle. This is an indoor only flyer so it’s perfect for all seasons.
I do, however, have one Momma Improvement worth mentioning and it’s the delicacy of this toy. My 6 year old played with this toy with his Daddy, so it was under supervision the whole time and within the first day one of the propellers had fallen off and they are so tiny, we couldn’t find it. They do come with extras for this reason, but it is definitely a toy for older boys ages 10 and up in my personal opinion.
To learn more or to make a purchase for these Fly Tech toys check out the WowWee website or visit your local retailer such as Toys R Us. Both retail for 39.99.
