Do you usually cook the turkey for Thanksgiving? I grew up where, on most Thanksgivings, my Dad would smoke or fry them at work, along with his co-workers. On occasion, my Mother would make it, but for the most part she was working on all those yummy sides and pies. I’m getting hungry just talking about it!
Well, as a young wife and mother, I never had to cook a turkey because we would just head on over to visit family and it was taken care of. I was thrown into cooking the turkey the Thanksgiving we moved from Texas to Tennesee. There was no family around and I just had to do it. We bought a tiny little bird, and honestly? It turned out wonderful! Each Thanksgiving after that, I bought a bigger one and a bigger one. To my amazement, I have YET tp make a dry, burned, or undercooked Turkey. That’s my luck though. I’m sure, now that I said that, my Turkey will be horrible this year. I might have to rely on Boston Market or Honey Baked Ham. We will see!
