It’s kind of crazy, but the other day my oldest two were jumping from couch to couch. I quickly told them that it wasn’t safe, it’s destroying my already tired furniture, and they needed to stop before someone gets hurt.
What do you think happened?
They jumped INTO each other and fell to the floor hurting themselves on the hardwood. Sometimes, they just don’t listen. I’ve heard of different learning games you can play with your kids to teach them the importance of listening. One I remember is, hiding a ticking stop watch or clock. You win the game if you can keep quiet, listen carefully, and find the clock.
Hasbro has taken the art of teaching children social skills, to the next level with their new line of Noodleboro Games.
We had the opportunity through Mom Central to try The Pizza Palace:
When we opened the box we were excited to see everything that was included in the game. Check it out:
From the Noodleboro Website:
Game for playtime! Pepperoni, eggs, stinky socks – you never know what toppings your customer will order at the NOODLEBORO Pizza Palace. That’s why in this game it’s important for kids to listen and pay attention to orders before heading into the kitchen. Order’s up!
Book for story time! Chef Listentino stubbed his toe and needs to rest. Avery and Earnest offer to run the pizza shop for him. Read the book to see how things go wrong when Avery doesn’t listen and does things his way.
Audio CD for anytime! Play the CD to get kids laughing, singing and sharing with a story and silly songs form NOODELBORO’s all-kid radio station!
For ages 4 and up. 2-3 players.
My favorite thing about the game is that EVERYONE wins! Young children often have a hard time losing at a game. My daughter is 4 and if she is losing she starts crying and usually wants to quit. In the Pizza Palace game, there is only one token to move. You work as a team to get that token to the ending chef hat.
When we played there were no tantrums, no crying, just good fun. They didn’t know they were polishing those listening skills with each turn. We had a blast and plan on purchasing the two we didn’t get to try.
