Other than the cereal aisle, the cracker/snack aisle is my kids favorite aisle to walk through. You can almost taste the easy cheese in your mouth as you pass it all. It surprised me though, when I saw a bunch of Mac & Cheese boxes sitting right up there with the Cheez-It’s. What? Macaroni and Cheese CRACKERS?
My daughter absolutely went crazy and insisted we buy them. A little hesitant, I re-shelve our usual Goldfish.
“Alright, let’s buy ’em, but you can’t get a candy at the check out, because these are a bit much.”
Seriously, these crackers were 3.94 for an 8 oz. box! I researched it a bit and I hear they are cheaper at Wal-mart, running at about 3 bucks.
I’ve gotta say, I was impressed with the taste………. at first. They’re good, but not worth the 4.00 I paid. There was a bit of a shallowness to the texture and after 2 days they don’t seem very “fresh”. The crunchiness is gone after opening the box for only 2 days.
I do have to give Kraft a little credit because I think they are jumping on boat to cater to young children’s cracker crave, but these just can’t compare to
Our Love Goldfish. They also offer three different flavors for variety such as: Mild Cheddar, Cheddar, & White Cheddar. We sampled the plain Cheddar so maybe the other flavor’s would be different? Also, apparently toddlers LOVE them. They are small and fit perfectly in my 18 month’s old little pudgy hands. So there are some positives worth trying.
I really hate writing bad reviews, but these crackers just weren’t a big hit for me and my reviews are ALWAYS honest.
Taste: Crunchy and Cheesy the first few days. After opening they lose a lot of the crunchiness quite quickly.
Price: WAY too expensive for my family budget. I paid almost 4.00 for a small box. I’d say wait on a coupon and double/triple days at your local grocer.
Uniqueness: There is nothing different about this product that I haven’t already seen. It’s VERY similar to Goldfish and it’s hard to compete with them in my personal opinion.
Kids: My Toddler Approves, My Elementary/Preschool Aged kids DO NOT
Momma: Disapproves mainly due to the price and taste.
