I’m not real sure about all you Mommas, but sometimes it’s hard to provide healthy snacks for my kids. All they want is the sugar, sugar, sugar. Don’t get me wrong they, on occasion, love having a plate of various items such as: Snack Cheese, Crackers, Raisins, Turkey cubes… but they get really bored with it after awhile. We’re always trying new products, mostly snack products. That’s why I’m glad I found Kellogg’s Snacktivate Website.
Snacktivate Experts, Deb Geigis Berry and Rachel Brandeis, MS, RD have teamed up with Kellogg’s to show us Momma’s how to turn snack time into a fun and nutritional time by giving us useful information and recipes.
After browsing the Snacktivate website I learned so much! From, how to plan, pick, and make it I’m ready to try some of the recipes such as:
All You’ll Need:
~Kellogg’s Frosted Mini-Wheat’s Crunch Peanut Butter Cookies*
~Oven-proof cookie sticks (crafts stores)
~Round cookie baking pan with depressions for cookie sticks**
*Find the recipe here
**If you don’t have cookie pan, simply drop the cookie dough onto a cookie sheet. Cross-hatch the center and insert the cookie sticks.
Press Crunch Peanut Butter dough into circular depression in pan. Cross-hatch center of flower with fork for “seeded” effect. Top floral center with dark flax seeds. Place raw almonds around edges of flower to create petals, Insert cookie sticks and bake.
We had so much fun making these and plan on making the rest of the recipes listed.
